Christmas Holiday Arrangements 2023

University of Galway semester 1 teaching and exams ends on Fri 15^th Dec 2023.

Semester 2 Teaching starts on Mon 8^th of Jan 2024.

• The Students’ Union Office will close 5pm Tues 19^th Dec and reopen 10am Mon 8^th Jan.
• The SU Cloakroom will close at 7pm on Fri 15^th Dec and reopen 9am Mon 8^th Jan.
• The SU Síbín will close at 7pm on Fri 15^th Dec and reopen 9am Mon 8^th Jan.
• Sult will close on Weds 20^th Dec and reopen 8.30am Thurs 4^th Jan.
• The SU Shop will close Weds 20^th Dec and reopen Weds 3^rd Jan.
• Smokey’s Café will close on Weds 20^th Dec and reopen Weds 3^rd Jan.
• The James Hardiman Library will close at 4pm Fri 22^nd Dec and reopen 8.30am Weds 3^rd Jan.
• The Reading Room will be open 07:00 – 02:30 throughout the Christmas period.
• The Chapel Building and kitchen will be open 1pm-6pm Mon-Fri throughout the Christmas period. They’ll also have refreshments, board games and a Christmas Movie 1pm-6pm Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
• The Student Pantry is closed for Christmas and will reopen in January. Follow studentpantrygalway on Instagram for updates.
• The Student Health Unit will close 4.30pm Tues 19^th Dec and will reopen 9.15am Thurs 4^th Jan. For urgent/emergency medical issues during this time please go to their website for services which are available – please note there is a charge for these services.
• Sin Newspaper will be back with a new issue on Mon 22^nd of Jan.
• Flirt FM are off FM and on Webstream only from Sun 17th Dec until Sun 7th Jan.
• The Socsbox will be closed from Fri 15th Dec and reopen Mon 8th Jan. Accessible via email socsofficer@socs.universityofgalway.ie up to 5pm 20th Dec and from 10am 3rd Jan.
• The Áras na Mac Léinn building and the Hub will be open 9am-10pm over holidays but closed on Mon 25th Dec, Tues 26th Dec and Mon 1st Jan. The Hub Kitchen will be closed. Áras na Mac Léinn rooms can be booked for use over the Christmas (except 25th Dec, 26th Dec + 1st Jan) at this LINK
