Every year the Students’ Union selects charities that benefit from its fundraising activities.

The SU 2025/26 nominated SU charities are:

Galway Rape Crisis Centre

GRCC is dedicated to providing a professional, caring and confidential counselling and support service for those in our community affected by sexual abuse and sexual violence.

The Irish Cancer Society is the national charity in Ireland dedicated to preventing cancer, funding research, and supporting people affected by the disease.

In 2018/19 we raised €11,500 for Galway Rape Crisis Centre and COPE Galway
In 2017/18 we raised €20,500 for Domestic Violence Response and AMACH!
In 2016/17 we raised €15,400 for The RNLI/Galway Lifeboats and Threshold.
In 2015/16 we raised €22,500 for Galway Rape Crisis Centre & The Irish Cancer Society.
In 2014/15 we raised €12,500 for Console and BeLonG To.
In 2013/14 we raised €11,000 for Galway Rape Crisis Centre and ISPCC/Childline.
