NUI Galway Students’ Union offers a variety of services including:

With the SU Card, you can now earn points or free products every time you shop with us. Your SU Card can be used in any of the Students’ Unions businesses. Students’ Union businesses are spread thought out the campus, so your SU Card will quickly start to clock up the points.

The SU Síbín is located in the library basement and open during term time 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

The Students’ Union rents out lockers located at convenient points around the University. There’s a charge of  €15-€25 for renting a locker for the academic year. You can reserve and pay for your locker online and collect your key at the SU. Office/Engineering Desk.

The Life Skills Programme run by the Students’ Union offers a chance to further your development outside of the academic world through classes in areas such as: Sign Language, First Aid, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, Self Defence, and many more.

CÉIM is a collaborative approach to learning and settling in to university life. 1st year students meet weekly for an hour to learn from each other under the guidance of trained 2nd year Student Leaders, with input from academic staff. CÉIM is a form of academic peer support, better known as PASS or PAL.

Meal Plan Service

The Meal Plan Service is a healthy eating initiative by NUI Galway Students’ Union to education students on how to plan and create healthy meals at affordable prices. 

The Union run an online grinds register. It’s updated regularly, with the majority of those offering grinds being NUI Galway postgraduate students. Before taking grinds, you should always consult with your lecturer or programme director, who may be able to help you out.

The Students’ Union operates a campus shop, which is located in the basement of the library building, where students can buy all the essentials. 

The Union operates a licensed club located at Áras na Mac Léinn. The Club is better known as “Sult” and provides top quality food and beverages for students all year round.

Smokey’s is a popular coffee dock on the Concourse of the Arts/Science Building, serving a full range of hot and cold drinks, snacks and fresh juices and smoothies.

We sell tickets for all national routes. We can also set you up with your Student Leap Card and can top up your Leapcard.

A free baggage room is provided by the Students’ Union in the basement of the library building near the Students’ Union Shop.
