Exam Results

  • Undergraduate Results: Official 1st Sitting results are scheduled for release from 8th -13th July 2021.
  • International Students: Official Results (course instances 1EM1, 1OA2, 1OA3 only) are released via the International Office.
  • Postgraduate Results: Official Summer (1st Sitting) results are scheduled for release on Friday, 21st July 2021.

The schedule of what days/times exam results will be released is available HERE.

Repeat exams will take place 9th-19th August and except in the case of the Exams Security Group or Plagiarism Advisor/Officer, there will be no capping of repeat exams for any modules in the 2020-2021 academic year. Information about exam result appeals and rechecks

 

Climate + Sustainability Conference Today

TODAY Thurs 27 May, from 08.50am – 12.15pm, the IIEA and Embassy of France in Ireland will host a climate and sustainability conference, entitled Climate and Community │ Le climat, Tous ensemble! This conference will look at the triple planetary crises: climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution. More info and links HERE. Some NUIG students will be taking part in the conference with the “Know your label” project to tackle transparency in the fast fashion industry.

Let’s Talk Periods 4pm Today

At 4pm today Thurs 27th of May NUIG Human Rights Law Clinic researchers launch a report on the human rights implications of period poverty. Ticket link and more info HERE.

 

Student Advisors

Students Advisors are here to support you and can offer advice and guidance on academic, personal, professional and financial matters. If you are finding things difficult or need some motivation, they are here to help and can also direct you to a range of support services. There are currently 3 student advisors:

 

NUI Galway Access Students – former and current!
The Access Office would like to hear your recommendations for the next National Plan for Equity of Access to Higher Education. Join them 11am-12pm Thurs 3rd June for a dedicated NUI Galway Access Centre student consultation. Register HERE

 

The call is open to take part in EYE 2021!

The European Youth Event #EYE2021 8-9 Oct at the European Parliament in Strasbourg will bring together young people from all over the EU to share their ideas on the future of Europe Groups can apply to receive a financial contribution to travel to the event. Groups can also apply to organise activities at the event. Application deadline is 2nd June. More Info HERE

Big Yellow Thing Socks On Sale

Our Big Yellow Thing Charity socks are back on sale from the SU Website HERE and also from the SU Shop in the Library basement. They make a really handy present that you can put in the post! All proceeds from sock sales go to the SU Charities.

‘Life After Graduation – Explore Your Next Steps’ is an exciting opportunity to hear from employers and alumni alike as you take that first step into the world of work or further study Weds 9th-Fri 11th June. Camino of the Body & Mind

Camino of the Body & Mind, is a virtual Camino that is designed to nurture both body and mind while raising funds for Galway Rape Crisis Centre. It begins on Mon 7th of June and more info including registration is available HERE

 

Study Participants Needed

An investigation of the Pain Assessment in Impaired Cognition (PAIC) as an aide to identify facial expressions of pain in people with an intellectual disability. This study takes 10-20 minutes to complete and involves identifying pain in a series of seconds-long videos which we hope will build a plan for better recognition of pain in people with an Intellectual disability and helping them. Link to take part HERE

 

Free Stress Control Programme Starts Monday

Stress plays a role in all our lives so learning how to manage and control it is key. The next free Stress Control course starts Monday 31st of May. More info and other resources such as session booklets and mindfulness exercises are HERE

 

Women’s Rugby Open Evening Mon 31st May
