Are You Interested in Youth Mental Health Research?
YOULEAD are seeking 15 young people (aged 18 to 25) to be part of a youth mental health research advisory panel (YAP for short). We are interested in hearing from young people from all walks of life who are interested in youth mental health and knowing more about youth mental health research. This may mean having personal experience of a mental health difficulty, or experience of a friend or family member who has a lived experience. Equally you may not have personal experience but would like to be part of the conversation. If so, we want to hear from you! YAP meet ups will be held in Galway city, starting in April and run as a pilot over the summertime. To get involved or for more information contact: olive.ogrady@nuigalway.ie

The World Health Organisation classified videogame addiction as a distinct behavioural addiction last year, but there are very little studies, statistics or research available to support their decision. This survey is just to get a general feel if anyone has felt gaming has impacted their life beyond their expectations. It is completely anonymous and open to anyone. If any fellow students had 2 minutes to complete it, it would be a huge help.
Have Your Say on Ireland’s New Diaspora Policy
Global Ireland: Ireland’s Global Footprint to 2025 – the Government’s plan to double our international presence – commits to the introduction of a new Diaspora Policy in 2020. This new policy will guide Ireland’s engagement and relationship with our diaspora: our emigrants, our citizens abroad, those of Irish heritage and those who feel an affinity with Ireland around the world. Minister of State for the Diaspora and International Development, Ciarán Cannon T.D., will be holding an open public consultation to inform this new policy at 6pm on Monday 15 April in the Hotel Meyrick, Galway.
