Hi, I’m Mariyam! I’m a postgraduate student passionate about creating inclusive spaces where every student feels seen, supported, and empowered to thrive. Beyond academics, I’m deeply involved in advocacy work focused on fairness, wellbeing, and community connection. I love discovering Galway’s cosy cafés, writing reflective pieces, and spending quiet moments by the sea. As your Postgraduate Taught Officer, I’m here to listen, represent your voice, and make postgraduate life not just about study, but about belonging and growth.

Is mac léinn iarchéime mé atá paiseanta faoi spásanna cuimsitheacha a chruthú ina mbraitheann gach mac léinn go bhfuil cead cainte, tacaíocht agus cumhacht á bhfáil acu. Taobh amuigh den seomra ranga, bíonn mé gafa le hobair abhcóideachta atá dírithe ar chothrom na Féinne, folláine agus pobail. Is breá liom a bheith ag déanamh taiscéalaíocht ar chaiféanna seascaire na Gaillimhe, ag scríobh píosaí machnamhacha, agus ag fáil faoiseamh beag cois farraige. The Postgraduate Taught Officer

1. Shall be the officer primarily responsible for developing Union Policy on
   postgraduate taught affairs.
2. Shall represent the interests of Postgraduate Taught and Postgraduate
   Research students.
3. Shall promote postgraduate involvement in the academic and social life of the
   University community and the university.
4. Shall work primarily in conjunction with the Postgraduate Research Officer
   and the Vice President / Education Officer to promote and vindicate the rights
   of Postgraduate students.
