Students’ Union to Host Sustainable Galway Panel Discussion

University of Galway Students’ Union are hosting a Sustainable Development Goals panel discussion at 6pm on Tuesday 20th of October looking at Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. The panel will be looking at issues such as cycling and housing in Galway and what can be done to improve the city for us all.

Speakers on the panel include Brendan Smith from Galway National Park City together with representatives from Galway Cycling Campaign and Threshold. The event is open to the public and takes place in IT250 in the IT Building of the University. Free tickets are available on Eventbrite here.

Students’ Union President Sai Gujulla said: “We are delighted to be hosting this panel discussion as part of Ireland’s first Sustainable Development Goals week. As part of the Galway community our students are passionate about making the city more liveable and sustainable for us all.”

Students’ Union Vice President/Welfare and Equality Officer Imogen O’Flaherty Falconer added: “The housing crisis is having a huge impact across all levels of society. We need to work together to find long term sustainable and affordable solutions for everyone in Galway. ”

Comhaltas na Mac Léinn le bheith ina óstach ar Dhíospóireacht Phainéil maidir le Gaillimh Inbhuanaithe

Beidh Comhaltas na Mac Léinn Ollscoil na Gaillimhe ina óstach ar dhíospóireacht phainéil maidir le Spriocanna Forbartha Inbhuanaithe Dé Máirt an 20ú Deireadh Fómhair ar 6pm. Díreofar ar Sprioc 11: Cathracha agus Pobail Inbhuanaithe. Beidh an painéal ag breithniú ceisteanna amhail rothaíocht agus tithíocht i nGaillimh agus cad is féidir a dhéanamh chun an chathair a fheabhsú dúinn go léir.

I measc na gcainteoirí ar an bpainéal beidh Brendan Smith ó Pháirc Náisiúnta Chathair na Gaillimhe in éineacht le hionadaithe ó Fheachtas Rothaíochta na Gaillimhe agus Threshold. Beidh an ócáid oscailte don phobal agus is in IT250 i bhFoirgneamh TF na hOllscoile a reáchtálfar í. Tá ticéid saor in aisce ar fáil ar Eventbrite anseo.
