- 14:00 “Anytime of the Month” Period Poverty Training / Oiliúint i mBochtanas na Fola Míosta – Period poverty means not having access to the products needed during a period, such as pads, tampons, menstrual cups, or pain relievers to help with cramps. This could be because of problems affording these products, or having difficulty accessing them for social or cultural reasons. ZOOM LINK HERE
- 17:00 Active* Consent Workshop / Ceardlann Toilithe – Active* Consent workshops provide a safe space to explore the nuances of sexual consent and how best to negotiate active sexual consent. The workshop is based on extensive research into young people’s sexual behaviours, attitudes and beliefs. The aim is to not merely give young people the tools to recognise and communicate consent, but to also promote a positive and confident approach to their sexual health. The Active* Consent workshop gives young people engaging and up-to-date information and skills that are practical and relevant for their own relationships. - 18:00 Image Based Sexual Assault Workshop / Ceardlann Íomhábhunaithe ar Ionsaithe Gnéis – This workshop with Dr Caroline West explores what revenge porn is, why we need to rename it, legislation, and how we can support victims emotionally and practically. This is an issue that is on the rise rapidly in Ireland and we need to work to ensure people understand that this act can have very damaging consequences. - 15:00 Know the Signs of Dating Abuse /Bíodh Comharthaí na Mí-Úsáide Geandála ar Eolas Agat – COPE Galway will help us understand the signs of dating abuse which can be physical, verbal, sexual or digital. ZOOM LINK HERE
- 19:00 Sex Toy Bingo / Biongó Bréagán Gnéis – This is not the type of bingo your granny would go to! There’s loads of sex toy prizes up for grabs and our host is comedian Steve Bennett so the craic will be had. All attendees will also get a 10% discount code to use at SexSiopa.ie. The event is free but there’s a suggested donation amount of €5 which will all go to the SU Charity Fund supporting Galway Rape Crisis Centre, Galway Autism Partnership and Helplink Mental Health.
