Marchathon is back – team up and get walking!
Marchathon Step Challenge: Tuesday 1st March – Thursday 31st March 2022
Get walking during the month of March to win some great prizes!
Create or join a Team with your classmates and colleagues to compete against others in NUI Galway and across the country to place on the Leader Board.
There will be weekly competitions, updated Leader Boards, plenty of prizes and plenty of fun.
Last year we had 60 teams take part and this year we want to get even more NUI Galway students and staff involved!
How to take part
- Get into a team of 3 – 6 people
- Sign-up online at www.activetravellogger.ie a) Team Captain: choose a team name and set your team up on the Active Travel Logger b) Team Members: sign up online at Active Travel Logger and join a Team.

To help us get started we have SU Goodie Bags for the best NUIG Team Name, and all NUIG Teams that have signed up to take part by Wednesday 23rd February will win SU Goodie Bags too!
We will also have spot prizes for teams throughout the Challenge so make sure to tag NUIGSU on your team social media posts!
NUIG Lunchtime Walks
We will be holding short lunchtime walks on Campus during March too so we can meet some new people and get our steps in.
Fundraising
This year we will also be aiming to raise funds for the SU Charities – Galway Rape Crisis Centre, BeLonG To Youth Services – during our Marchathon Challenge. You can sign up to fundraise with your team on our iDonate Page here.
