The final year Medicine class at NUIG were disheartened to hear of the reduction in the number of 2021 Internship posts. We have been trained by the finest professionals, during the past 5/6 years, ensuring we qualify as diligent and competent young doctors by the time we graduate. Not only have we gained numerous skills during these years, we have developed a fond connection to the Irish community, which we would be honoured to give back to and serve as their healthcare providers. The graduating class of 2021 has instigated a petition addressed to Minister Stephen Donnelly with hopes of increasing the number of available Internship posts. Through this, we hope to allow more Irish trained medical students an opportunity to support the Irish healthcare system during this current crisis. We would appreciate any help you can offer to voice our concerns. Sign the petition HERE
