Council Notes
That the minutes of Executive Meetings, Students’ Union Officer reports, and Comhairle Chomhaltas na Mac Léinn minutes have not been uploaded online for the current academic year. The last available updates date back to 2022/2023.
Council Further Notes
That the Students’ Union Constitution (April 2022) states that “Minutes of Executive Meetings will be published on the Students’ Union website” (Article 7.I.), yet this requirement has not been fulfilled this year.
Council Also Notes
That the most recent Students’ Union referendum in March 2024 was approved but the updated Constitution has yet to be uploaded online, despite a dedicated page for referendum results, Appendix 1, where many past referenda are also inactive links.
Council Believes
That the failure to upload key governance documents reduces transparency, makes it harder for students to engage with the Union’s work, and contradicts constitutional requirements.
Council Mandates
The President to ensure that the minutes of Executive Meetings, SU Officer reports, and Comhairle Chomhaltas na Mac Léinn minutes be uploaded online within 14 days of the
Respective meetings to the Student Union website, current location noted as Appendix 2 at time of drafting motion.
Council Further Mandates
The President to ensure that the updated Constitution from the March 2024 referendum be uploaded without further delay to the student union website to ensure students have access to the most current governing document.
Council Also Mandates
The President to ensure that the referendum page be fully updated and all inactive links be fixed, ensuring past referenda results remain accessible.
