This project aims to develop a cutting edge new source of renewable energy.
It will provide a source of clean and cost-effective water heating for agricultural families and businesses. It combines two well-established ideas that have never before been put together; a silage pit, the most common form of winter cattle feed in Ireland, and heat recovery pumps used in geothermal heating, to provide an eco-friendly source of hot water and heating.

Project Updates
[accordion] [accordion_item title=’Update 1 – January 2015′]
The work carried out so far has focused on research into our system design and data collection. We will be continuing this research to improve our knowledge of both the dynamics of silage pits and the technical aspects of heat recovery. We have also laid out a plan of action for the following month and for the duration of this project.
