SU Irish Language Classes
Want to learn Irish or improve the Irish you have and might not be using?
We will be holding Irish Language Classes this semester.
It’s an 8 week course either in person or live online via Zoom with Gaelchultúr starting the week of 6th of February 2024.
PLEASE NOTE: These courses are for registered University of Galway Students ONLY

1. Tosaitheoirí 1 | Beginners 1 IN PERSON
6pm-7pm Tuesday 6th February – Tuesday 26th March 2024 (min 6 students max 20 Students)

For those who are completely new to learning Irish. TEG Level: A1

3. Bunrang 1 | Refreshers 1 IN PERSON
7pm-8pm Tuesday 6th February – Tuesday 26th March 2024 (min 6 students max 20 students)
Do dhaoine a bhfuil beagán Gaeilge acu, de gnáth ón scoil agus iad ag iarraidh cúrsa athnuachana bunúsach a dhéanamh leis an nGaeilge a athfhoghlaim agus a athneartú. Lebhéal TEG: A2
For people who have a small amount of Irish, usually from school and are looking for a basic course to relearn and reinforce their Irish. TEG Level: A2

4. Meánrang 1 | Intermediate 1 ON ZOOM
7pm-8pm Wednesday 7th February – Wednesday 27th March 2024 (min 6 students max 20 students)
Do dhaoine a bhfuil tuiscint réasúnta maith acu ar an nGaeilge ach nach bhfuil muinín acu in úsáid na Gaeilge. Leibhéal TEG: B1
For people who have a reasonably good understanding of Irish but do not have confidence in using the language. TEG Level: B1
Classes will be live on Zoom.
5. Ardrang 1 | Advanced 1 ON ZOOM
6pm-7pm Thursday 8th February – Thursday 28th March 2024 (min 6 students max 20 students)
Do dhaoine a bhfuil Gaeilge mhaith acu ach ag iarraidh feabhas a chur ar a gcuid scileanna cumarsáide, foghraíochta agus gramadaí. Leibhéal TEG: B2
For people with a good level of Irish, looking to improve communication skill, pronunciation and grammar. TEG Level: B2
Classes will be live on Zoom.
Course cost: €20 but you will be refunded if you attend all classes. You will get a certificate for completing the course. You will also get a discount code for the Gaelchultúr online shop.
PLEASE NOTE: The course will only go ahead if there are sufficient numbers registered. For privacy reasons classes will not be recorded.
