This project aims to complete an audit of sustainability related activities throughout the NUI Galway campus and will develop a video presentation as the foundation for an awareness campaign to encourage students and staff to study, work and live sustainably.

The project will draw attention to sustainable initiatives already taking place on the NUI Galway campus, including the sustainable infrastructure being put in place by the Buildings Office to reduce harmful emissions, increase use of alternative energy and reduce waste. It will also draw attention to the extensive academic research currently being undertaken across the university. Models adopted by third level institutions across the globe will be explored with a view to recommending how this initiative could be built upon. Ultimately, students, as future graduates of NUI Galway, will hopefully become effective ambassadors for sustainable living and bring sustainable values and ethics into the workplace, thereby contributing to the development of a more sustainable world.
