Fund Our Future: National Student Protest Thursday 1 October 2026
AMLÉ (the national students’ union) is organising a major national demonstration for the “Fund Our Future” campaign on Thursday 1 October in Dublin. University of Galway Students’ Union is part of AMLÉ and we are part of the national movement who are calling on the Irish Government to take urgent action on the student affordability crisis, sustainable higher education funding, cost-of-living supports, and student accommodation.
Buses will leave Galway at 9:00am on Thursday 1 October from the Cathedral. We will march to Dáil Éireann where there will be a short rally before returning home. We expect to be back in Galway at approximately 6:30pm.

University of Galway Student ID will be required on the day.
