Lab Coat and Goggle Donation Drive – ongoing
Unused lab coats and goggles taking up space in your house/locker? Donate them today! Recycle lab coats and goggles by donating them at the SU Office and SU Síbín before Thurs 4th May.
Bra Donation Drive for Mellon Educate – ongoing
South Africa has one of the highest incidence rates of sexual assault globally, however, in certain communities a bra represents status and the simple act of wearing one can drastically decrease the chances of sexual assault for a woman. Mellon Educate are collecting old and new bras to send out with volunteers on their annual trip in November. You can donate bras to the collection box in the SU Office upstairs in Áras na Mac Léinn 10am-5pm, Mon-Fri until Fri 5th May. More info HERE or email c.mcgrath40@nuigalway.ie

An Mheitheal Rothar- Unused Bikes Wanted – An Mheitheal Rothar, a social enterprise based on campus, are looking for donations of any unused bikes/bikes in need of repair as part of their Recycle Your Cycle initiative. The bikes will be repaired and either sold in our shop or donated to Ukrainian refugees/University of Sanctuary students. You can find out more about the initiative HERE. Donate Food – you can donate unopened, in-date, non-perishable food items (eg tins of food, packets of pasta/rice, cereal, soft drinks etc) to the collection box in the SU Office and these will be given to the Student Pantry to distribute to students. Please note we can’t accept any fresh food, out of date items or items that are already open.
Donate Hygiene Products – you can donate unopened hygiene products to the collection box in the SU Office and these will be donated to the Hygiene Bank. You can donate new, unused, in-date personal care and household cleaning essentials – including deodorant, shower gel, shampoo, make-up, nappies, toilet roll, laundry detergent and surface cleaner.
