University of Galway semester 1 teaching and exams ends on Fri 19th Dec 2025.
Semester 2 Teaching starts on Mon 12th of Jan 2026

- The Students’ Union Office will close 5pm Fri 19th Dec and reopen 10am Weds 7th Jan.
- The SU Cloakroom will close at 7pm on Fri 19th Dec and reopen 9am Mon 12th Jan.
- The SU Síbín will close at 7pm on Fri 19th Dec and reopen 9am Mon 12th Jan.
- Sult will close on Fri 19th Dec and reopen 8.30am Weds 7th Jan.
- The SU Shop will close Tues 23rd Dec (TBC) and reopen Mon 5th Jan.
- Smokey’s Café will close Fri 19th Dec and reopen Mon 5th Jan.
- Spéir, the SU Student Pantry, will close on Fri 19th Dec and reopen Mon 12th Jan.
- The James Hardiman Library will close at 5.30pm Tues 23rd Dec and reopen 8.30am Mon 5th Jan.
- The Reading Room will be open 07:00 – 02:30 throughout the Christmas period.
- The Student Health Unit will close 4.30pm Fri 19th Dec and will reopen 9.15am Mon 5th Jan. For urgent/emergency medical issues during this time please go to their website for services which are available – please note there is a charge for these services.
- Flirt FM will be closed 13th Dec to 11th Jan. Studio & equipment bookings by request to info@flirtfm.ie over the break.
- The Socsbox and the Hub Kitchen will be closed from Fri 19th Dec
