  • Genitourinary Medicine (GUM) /STI Clinic

The Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) clinic based in University Hospital Galway is the largest in the west of Ireland with approximately 4000 patient attendances per year

  • Their service is free of charge on an appointment basis only
  • They offer testing for STIs for people with and without symptoms
  • For those without symptoms a waiting list may apply
  • They offer clinics for HIV prevention (PrEP).
  • They run a clinic for Hepatitis A/B and Gardasil vaccinations.

  • Sexual Assault Treatment Unit (SATU)
  • The Sexual Assault Treatment Unit (SATU) is a safe and non-judgemental space if you or someone you know have been raped or sexually assaulted.
  • The SATU in Galway is a free 24-hour service that is open 365 days a year and is available to anyone over 14 years of age.

  • Galway Rape Crisis Centre

Galway Rape Crisis Centre’s vision is to lessen the impact and incidence of sexual violence and abuse and to achieve a society which no longer tolerates these crimes.

AMACH! LGBT Galway represent and advocate on behalf of the LGBT+ community in Galway city and county.

  • They hold support groups, drop-ins and activities where you can meet new friends, get information and chill with like-minded people.
  • They are also a focal point for delivery of education, training and health programmes in addition to support for individuals identifying as LGBT+ and for those who are ‘coming out’.

COPE Galway Domestic Abuse Service supports women and children in Galway who experience domestic abuse and violence.
