Ohana Zero Suicide Training

This training is recommended for persons over 18.

Take the Ohana Free ZERO  suicide training today and gain the skills to save a life.

This training, which takes approximately 20 minutes,  focuses on breaking stigma and encouraging open conversations.

The training will provide you with the tools to enable you to:

  1. Identify the signs that someone may be suicidal
  2. Employ the correct language in asking the appropriate questions
  3. Direct that person to the appropriate help.

It can be summarized as ‘Show you Care, Ask the Question, Make the Call.’

This will help save lives.

ZSA Suicide Awareness training was originally written and developed by Jane Boland, suicide prevention expert and Angela Samata, former Chair of the Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide charity. With over 1.4 million people having already completed the training across the UK, Ohana Zero suicide aim to, in partnership with Zero Suicide Alliance (ZSA), bring the same opportunity to the people of Ireland.

5-A-Day for Mental Health

This FREE one hour workshop aims to provide young adults, aged 17-25 in 3rd Level Educational settings, with the strategies necessary to build and take care of their own mental health.

Learning Outcomes

Young people will:

  • Gain an understanding of mental health
  • Become aware of mental health as a resource for living
  • Learn a range of practical strategies that they can implement to improve and manage their own mental health on a day to day basis
  • Learn how and where to get help
  • Become aware of the supports available in their local area

LivingWorks Start Programme

LivingWorks START Programme

LivingWorks Start is a 90 minute online interactive training progamme that will give you the skills and knowledge to keep others safe from suicide.

Most people are surprised to learn that by asking someone if they are thinking about suicide and listening to the response, they could help save a life. Suicide prevention training provides people with the lifesaving skills to help a family member, friend, colleague, patient or even a stranger they meet on the street.

Who is this training for?

This programme is suitable for anyone over the age of 18 who wants to help prevent suicide and is prepared to become more suicide alert.

In the training you will:

  • Learn the TASC model
  • Tune in to the possibility of suicide
  • Ask about suicide
  • State that suicide is serious
  • Connect to help
  • Have increased knowledge of the resources available to keep someone safe
