Marchathon is the annual Smarter Travel Workplaces & Campus Walking Challenge that runs in March each year.
It’s a team Challenge, with teams of 3-6 people signing up and aiming to take as many steps as possible during the challenge from the 1st of March to the 28th of March 2021. There’s lots of prizes to be won and it’s a great way to keep active in your 5km radius!

5 A Day for Mental Health Workshops
We have teamed up with Jigsaw to bring you this free 1 hour workshop which aims to provide young adults, aged 17 – 25 in third level educational settings, with the strategies necessary to build and take care of their own mental health. Traveller Ethnicity Day Monday 1st March
NUIG is hosting a day long series of online events this Monday 1st of March as part of Traveller Ethnicity Day. Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science Simon Harris, will officially launch the event and the Travellers in Higher Education: Building a Sense of Belonging documentary at 10am. Exploring young people’s experiences of the guidelines for physical distancing during COVID-19
This study is examining the barriers and facilitators to physical distancing as well as the psychosocial development of young people whilst adhering to physical distancing guidelines. Participants must be aged between 18-25 years. The study involves taking photos and attending a one-to-one interview with the researcher about the young person’s experiences of physical distancing (where their photos will be used as prompts). The goal of this research by a student from St Angela’s College in Sligo is to find out more about the food and drink choices of undergrad college students and what are the factors influencing those choices. You can complete the short survey here
