NUI Galway Summer Holiday Arrangements 2015
The SU Office will be open throughout the summer with reduced hours Monday-Friday 10:00-12:30 & 14:00-16:30 and will be closed for the June & August Bank Holiday Mondays. Summer Lockers will go on sale on Monday 25th May for €10.
The Student Health Unit will be on reduced hours from the 1st of June and will only be seeing Postgraduate & Masters students. Monday-Friday 09:30-12:30 & 14:30-16:30.
The James Hardiman Library will be open: 18th May-19th July & 17th Aug-30th Aug Mon-Fri 08:30-17:30 Sat/Sun CLOSED. Monday 1st June CLOSED.
During the Repeat Exams the Library will be open: 20th July-16th Aug Mon-Thurs 08:30-22:00, Fri 08:30-17:30, Sat 10:00-17:00, Sun CLOSED. Mon 3rd August 10:00-17:00.
The Reading Room will be open as usual during the summer 07:00-02:30 every day.
The SU Shop will be open Monday-Friday 08:30-16:00. Closed Saturday/Sunday.
The Hub Café will close on Friday 24th April for the summer holidays and will re-open on Monday 31st of August.
Smokey’s Café will be open throughout the summer with reduced hours. Mon-Fri 08:30-17:30. Sat/Sun Closed.
The SU Cloakroom will close at 18:30 on Wednesday 13th May and will re-open at 9am on Monday 7th September.
The SU Engineering desk will close at 15:00 on Wednesday 13th May and will re-open at 11am on Monday 7th September.
The Academic Writing Centre will close on Friday 24th April and will re-open in October.
Computer DISC is closed for the summer and will re-open on the 24th September 2015.
Exam Results will be out between Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 17th June online. Final Year Undergrad and Postgrad Results will also be posted out.
Autumn/Repeat Exams will be held from Tuesday 4th August to Friday 14th August.
SU Lockers will go on sale online at 10am on Monday 31st August from the SU Website.
First Year Orientation takes place from Monday 31st August to Friday 4th September.
Teaching Begins for all years on Monday 7th September.
Conferrings will take place Monday 19th – Friday 24th October (Undergrads) and Tuesday 24th-Thursday 26th November (PhDs/Postgrads)

The paperwork is all done now it’s time for the real leg work to begin! If you want to make sure that the Marriage Equality Referendum passes on Friday 22nd of May here’s some ways to help:
1. Go Canvassing! Yes Equality Galway are canvassing across the city every evening and in town on the weekend. To get involved just get in touch with them or just turn up to help out.
2. Go Talking! Yes Meeting for Marriage Equality 7pm Thursday 7th May in Galway Arts Centre, Dominick Street. More information.
3. Go Marching! Galway will March for Marriage Equality 3pm Saturday 16th of May organised by Yes Equality. More Information
4. Go Voting! On Friday 22nd of May Polling stations will be open 7am-10pm bring your polling card and ID. Text/message/snapchat/yikyak everybody ALL DAY to make sure they have voted too!
